    Houston ChronicleTwo people are dead after a crash on Eastex Freeway southbound near Beltway 8 Tuesday afternoon, bringing a halt to freeway traffic, Houston Police Department officials said. The crash involved two vehicles near the 15300 block of Eastex Freeway in north Houston, an HPD spokesperson said. Police were notified of the crash at around 3:20 p.m., and are still investigating the scene. The spokesperson said HPD's vehicular crimes division is responding to the crash.
