NEW MARTINSVILLE, W.Va. (WTRF) — The Wetzel County Board of Education voted yes to consolidate four schools into two on Friday morning during a special meeting. The vote was to approve the consolidation of Paden City High School, Magnolia High School, Valley High School and Hundred High School. The consolidations will send Hundred High School students to Valley High School and Paden City students to Magnolia High School. Both moves are set to take effect starting during the 2025-2026 school year.

This year, Oktoberfest in Pittsburgh will feature a unique attraction—a 60-foot Ferris wheel on the Roberto Clemente Bridge. In fact, the entire Sixth Street Bridge will feature a family-friendly zone that will include games, vendors, and activities. The 60-foot Ferris wheel will be on the bridge for the duration of the event allowing customers to get unique views of the city and sister bridges like never before.

NEW MARTINSVILLE, W.Va. (WTRF) — The Wetzel County School Board voted ‘yes’ on Friday for the county superintendent and staff to create a plan for consolidation of schools in the county, which could cut two high schools. The board voted 3-1 to allow Superintendent Cassandra Porter and her staff to create a plan to present to the West Virginia Board of Education about consolidating schools in the county.
