LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Sunny skies helped most of the South Plains achieve a temperature range of 70-75 degrees on Friday afternoon. Saturday afternoon will be similar with more sunshine and afternoon temps in the low to mid 70s. Even the winds will cooperate with speeds of 10-20 mph from the south to southeast.

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - A Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect for the northern South Plains until 1 a.m. The watch includes these counties: Castro, Brisco, Hall and Childress, including Tulia, Silverton, Quitaque and Turkey. Storms will move east to southeast across the northern South Plains overnight. Some storms are likely to move into other areas of the region through mid-morning.
