You can learn at this weekend’s event. Central New York polka artist Jasiu Klocek’s band The Salt City Brass plays on Saturday. He started playing the accordion at 4 years-old and has played ever since.

The State Fair celebrates its 10th Pride Day during the 2025 edition. It became the first state fair in the country to establish a day for recognizing LGBTQIA+ community. In preview of the moment, the Fair raised the flag once more this week outside its main gates in Syracuse. Senator Rachel May said she’s spoken with Trans and Queer young adults who, unfortunately, are still waiting for acceptance by their parents.

Syracuse residents will have the opportunity to enjoy free music at a neighborhood park this summer. The “Jazz in the City” free concert series runs from June through August. CNY Jazz executive director Larry Luttinger said some of the residents don’t have their own transportation and usually don’t travel more than five to ten blocks from home. “That is real economic and physical isolation.
