ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - With less than a week until a REAL ID-compliant state-issued driver’s license will be required for every air traveler over the age of 18 — unless you have a passport or military ID — it’s crunch time if you’re looking for a smooth experience getting through TSA. “The beginning of the federal enforcement of REAL ID will begin on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at airports across the country,” said Lorie Dankers with TSA Public Affairs. “This is not unique to Anchorage.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Dust off your favorite cosplay and call your best buds: Arctic Comic Con is coming back to Anchorage and will run from April 26 to April 27. In the name Arctic Comic Con, “con” is short for convention, and you can expect respectively-sized crowds for the weekend event. The convention is expected to again fill the Dena’ina Center with a wide variety of vendors, activities, and panels, as well as meet-and-greets with some big stars of pop culture, available to attendees.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Anchorage Fire Department Chief Doug Schrage recognized firefighters who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in service to their community. In a commendation ceremony on Monday, Schrage called attention to four firefighters who answered an emergency call while not officially on duty.
