Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa are back together. On the October 2nd episode of Raw, Ciampa challenged Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship. However, the former NXT Champion was ultimately successful, and then promptly attacked by Giovanni Vinci and Lugwig Kaiser. With Ciampa being laid out, Johnny Gargano ran in to make the save, reuniting with his best friend. The appearance was Gargano’s first on Raw since May 15th.

Lyra Valkyria is next to get a crack at the NXT Women’s Championship. Valkyria defeated Indi Hartwell and Roxanne Perez in a three-way match to become the new number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship on Tuesday, defeating Hartwell after Kiana James took out Perez at ringside. With the win, she will now face Lynch on the first night of NXT’s two-week Halloween Havoc event, which begins on October 24.

NXT moves on from No Mercy and starts the build to Halloween Havoc tonight. A new North American Champion was crowned when Trick Williams defeated Dominik Mysterio last Saturday. Tonight, Dominik gets his rematch for the title. If Dominik doesn't win the championship back, he'll have to answer to Rhea Ripley. Ripley has warned Dominik not to come home without gold. It's the start of a new era for NXT with Ilja Dragunov as champion. Dragunov won the title from Carmelo Hayes at No Mercy.
