UTICA, N.Y. -- Three corrections officers charged in connection with the beating death of Marcy Correctional Facility inmate Robert Brooks were in Oneida County Court Tuesday. Attorneys for Mathew Galiher and Nicholas Kieffer argued to have the most serious charges of murder, manslaughter and gang assault dismissed, saying that the evidence and rule of law don't support them. The judge reserved decision.

The agreed-upon sentence for Michael Andreev, Jr., is 15 years to life in prison for the murder of his father and 17 years to life in prison for the murder of his sister. Those are to be served consecutively, meaning 32 years to life in prison. Sentencing November 14th

Michael Andreev, Jr., pled guilty to 2 amended counts of 2nd-degree murder. He was originally charged with 1st-degree murder.
