    CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A father’s love for his family, in the words of his youngest daughter, is how she will hold her memories of him close to her. Nathaniel McCreary is the construction worker who was struck and killed by a driver early Tuesday morning while he was working on the side of Interstate 75 in Clayton County. Soon after, the Georgia State Patrol trooper who responded to that crash, Trooper First Class Chase Redner, was also struck and killed by another driver.

    ATLANTA — Atlanta’s City Council is scheduled to vote Monday on a proposal to ban everyone from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport except ticket-holding passengers, people dropping off or picking up passengers and people who work at the airport. The reason—to improve security, and to reduce loitering by people who are experiencing homelessness. Friday night was typical in the atrium of the world’s busiest airport—someone was making the rounds, asking for money.

    ATLANTA — The City of Atlanta has just launched a brand new non-emergency hotline after new data revealed that just 3% of 911 calls within the city last year were true emergencies. City officials said the new communication system is needed after such a small percentage of its 1.35 million "emergency" calls were actually urgent in 2023. The number of calls last year was up 14% compared to 2022.

    ATLANTA — Patients of another metro Atlanta healthcare provider found out this week that their personal medical information was stolen by hackers. This time, the target was the Atlanta Women’s Health Group. The group just notified more than 30,000 patients about a data breach which occurred in April, 2023—the hackers stealing confidential medical records of some of the patients.
