    BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) – Fire departments are working to contain a structure fire on Larew Avenue in the 600 Block of Beckley as of 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Fire Departments from Beaver, Coal City, Mabscott and Bradley were dispatched to the fire, along with Jan Care ambulance services. The road is closed off while they deal with the fire. This is a developing story – more information will be added as it becomes available.

    FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WVNS) – Back in January, we brought you the story of Plum Orchard Lake and how it had fallen into disrepair. Concerned citizen David Perry, was leading an effort with fellow Fayette County residents to bring attention to the nature preserve and its need for better upkeep. Checking in a few months later, there has been progress and upkeep since we were last here in January and the signs are there. Literally – many of the signs have been replaced with new ones.
