The Storm Prediction Center has issued a marginal chance of severe weather today across our northern and western counties. And for Tuesday the SPC has issued a slight chance (level two of five) of severe weather across most of Southeast Texas.

Known for sudden bursts of intensity, the Lyrids typically offer 10 to 20 meteors per hour—but have shocked observers with outbursts reaching 100 meteors an hour, including dramatic displays recorded as far back as 1803 in Virginia and as recently as 1982.

HOUSTON (KIAH) — A stalled out frontal boundary continues to bring strong storms to portions of Southeast Texas. As of 12:45 p.m., a special marine warning had been issued by the National Weather Service for coastal waters from Freeport to Matagorda Ship Channel, out 29 nautical miles, as well as the coastal waters from High Island to Freeport. This area of storms is bringing winds of 40 knots or greater and is moving to the southeast at 10 knots.
