But not just a degree or two warmer-than-normal.Most days have been at least five degrees above average. This, coming on the heels of an extremely warm month of March, which saw more than 80% of its afternoons with above average temperatures.

    HOUSTON (KIAH) — Residents of Southeast Texas should prepare for a notably chilly evening tonight, as clear skies and diminishing winds set the stage for radiational cooling, and a second night in-a-row with winter-like temperatures. Overnight lows will bottom out in the upper 30s and low 40s in the Houston area. That means Tuesday morning will feel more like February than April. The reason has to do with the atmospheric process that helps keep the Earth’s temperature in check: Radiational Cooling.

    HOUSTON, Texas  (KIAH) — A tornado watch is in effect until 9pm CST Saturday, for the following counties: Harris, Brazoria, Fort Bend, Chambers, Galveston, Liberty, Montgomery, San Jacinto and Polk. Strong storms have been moving through Southeast Texas throughout the afternoon, brining heavy rain, small hail and numerous lightning strikes. The activity will continue into the early evening, exiting to the east by 9pm.
