Nimmo also hit a three-run drive in his seventh career multihomer game. The 32-year-old outfielder had four hits and scored four times after beginning the day with a .192 batting average.     MIAMI -- The Washington Nationals placed shortstop CJ Abrams on the 10-day injured list on Saturday because of a right hip flexor strain. Abrams first experienced discomfort during the Nationals' home series against Arizona last week and it then flared up again on Friday, when Washington opened a road series in Miami. He was removed after the third inning and underwent an imaging test Saturday that confirmed the strain.

    After days of rumors -- and months of negotiating -- the Toronto Blue Jays agreed to a 14-year, $500 million deal with superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on Sunday night.     MIAMI -- New York Mets left-hander Sean Manaea had a setback in his recovery from a right oblique strain and won't throw for two weeks. "He experienced some discomfort a couple of days ago when he was starting to ramp up," manager Carlos Mendoza said Tuesday before a game against the Miami Marlins. Manaea underwent imaging that showed inflammation and received a platelet-rich plasma injection Monday.

    The Baltimore Orioles signed right-hander Kyle Gibson to a one-year contract Friday, the club announced, reuniting with the veteran to reinforce their rotation less than a week from opening day. The deal is worth $5.25 million with $1.525 million more in possible incentives, a source told ESPN. Gibson, 37, returns to Baltimore after serving as a reliable option in 2023 for their upstart 101-win club.
