Video games have come a long way since I first picked up an Atari controller in 1990. Back then, I sat fascinated for hours making a chicken cross a road, or making a frog cross a road, or playing 3-on-3 hockey with a stick figure, a fairly healthy looking individual, and a man who, in retrospect, was clearly too obese to be able to get around on skates.

Findings In this systematic review and meta-analysis of group averages, unlicensed doses of stimulants were associated with small, possibly nonclinically meaningful, additional reductions of ADHD symptoms and increased risk of treatment discontinuation due to adverse events in comparison with licensed doses of these medications.
