    LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A case against a gas station manager accused of stealing a winning lottery ticket took a step forward Wednesday. Lancaster County Judge Joseph Dalton ruled that there was enough evidence to try 50-year-old Jeremiah Ehlers and sent his case to district court. Ehlers, of Greeley, is charged with felony theft by deception. On April 12, 2024, Ehlers took a $300,000 scratch-off ticket to the Nebraska Lottery office in Lincoln. He was paid $213,000 after taxes.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A group of six people were caught on camera trying to force their way into a north Lincoln home. On Wednesday, Lincoln Crime Stoppers asked for help solving the attempted break-in, which happened on Friday, just before midnight. On the home’s security video, a male is seen kicking the door multiple times. Another male then comes up and punches and kicks the door several times.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska Legislature gave final approval Wednesday night to a bill restricting which sports teams transgender athletes can play on. Senators voted 33-16 to approve Legislative Bill 89, called the Stand With Women Act. That is the exact number of yes votes needed to prevent a filibuster.     LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man appeared in court Wednesday in connection with a Memorial Day weekend crash on O Street. Nicholas Jones, 30, was arraigned in Lancaster County Court on a charge of second-degree assault. A judge set his bond at $150,000, and Jones paid $15,000 to be released from jail.     LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A methamphetamine case in Lancaster County District Court was thrown out Tuesday. Judge Lori Maret dismissed the case against Da’marsell Miller, 25, at the request of prosecutors. The charges were dismissed without prejudice, meaning the state could refile them.
