LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man will spend decades in prison for sexually assaulting a 4-year-old boy. Bradley Geiger, 53, was sentenced Wednesday to 80 to 84 years for two counts of attempted first-degree sexual assault of a child. He would be eligible for parole in about 40 years. Geiger was arrested in July after the boy told his mother about an assault, according to court documents.

Trago Park Sprayground in Lincoln opens early due to warm weather

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln’s Trago Park Sprayground opened for the summer on Wednesday, which was earlier than planned. The Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department said the sprayground is opening early due to warmer-than-average temperatures. It will be open daily through Labor Day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.The sprayground has interactive water play features.
Man sent to prison for DUI crash that killed two in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man was sentenced Wednesday for driving drunk and killing two people. Grabiel Revilla got 19 to 20 years in prison for one count of manslaughter. The 35-year-old was also sentenced to 60 days for DUI. His driver’s license will be revoked for six months. Woman hospitalized after downtown Lincoln crash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A woman was injured Wednesday afternoon in a crash in downtown Lincoln. The crash was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m. at 12th and K streets. A Channel 8 reporter at the scene saw someone lying on the ground. Police said a woman was taken to a hospital with a leg injury. It’s not clear how many vehicles were involved. LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert lost her bid for a fourth term Tuesday. Stothert conceded to Douglas County Treasurer John Ewing, KMTV reported. As of 9:45 p.m., Ewing, a Democrat, led the incumbent Republican 55% to 45% in the officially nonpartisan race. Ewing will become the first Black elected mayor of Omaha. Stother has been in the mayor’s office since 2013.

Man killed in crash east of Lincoln is identified

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities on Tuesday identified the man killed in a crash east of Lincoln. Thomas Heath, 61, died Monday after the crash, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office. The crash happened about 12:30 p.m. on O Street near 162nd Street. Investigators determined that Heath was going east in a Ford Focus when he drifted into the westbound lane. The Ford collided head-on with an SUV. Heath was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Nebraska wrestler is facing a misdemeanor charge after an incident in a dormitory hallway. Colin McAlister, 18, pleaded not guilty on Monday to criminal mischief. He is being held in the Lancaster County Jail on a $1,000 bond. On Saturday night, just before midnight, a student living at Smith Hall reported that someone tried to light her dorm room door on fire.
