SCOTTSDALE – While the outside temperature hit triple digits, competition for a new hockey season was heating up inside the doors of the Ice Den Scottsdale. The Arizona Coyotes held their 2023 Prospect Development Camp from July 3-7. Coyotes prospects and draft picks spent the week in training sessions and wrapped it up with a scrimmage. Forty-six players were named to the camp roster, headlined by former first round picks Dylan Guether, Logan Cooley, Conor Geekie and Maveric Lamoureux.

PHOENIX – Earlier this year, the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner released a grim statistic: 732 people died while homeless in 2022, a 42% increase from 2021. Valley health care providers who serve the homeless population agree that summer months are especially dangerous for those without shelter. But they add that chronic medical conditions and drug use contribute to the alarming increase in deaths among those experiencing homelessness.

PHOENIX – Nike and Jordan shoes squeaked against the court as Phoenix Suns players echoed “switch” and “box out” inside the Verizon 5G Performance Center in the summer league team’s final practice before heading to Las Vegas. The energy was high with players eager to show their worth in preparation to campaign for a spot on a star-studded roster that will feature Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal next season.

PHOENIX – An NBA dream born in Brussels, Belgium was chased by a 16-year-old kid who moved to Florida and now will be achieved while sharing the court with Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal and Devin Booker. For 23-year-old Toumani Camara, the Phoenix Suns’ lone pick in last Thursday’s draft, it has all come to fruition. “Going down the steps, shaking (Adam Silver’s) hand and (putting) the hat on (was) something that I have been dreaming about since the age of seven,” Camara said.
