A 24-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuriesCrime scene investigators are carrying out enquiries at the scene of a skate park attack near Nottingham College's Canal Street campus. A man remains in hospital with a life-threatening injury after being assaulted at the Sussex Street Skate Park underneath the tram tracks. A police cordon remained in place as of 12.30pm on Wednesday, December 6, following the incident at 6.50pm the previous day.

Dozens of floral tributes have been left in memory of an ice hockey player who died after being struck by an opponent's skate. Bolero Square outside the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham has become a sea of flowers as people pay their respects to Adam Johnson. Nottingham Panthers player Johnson, 29, was cut when the skate of Sheffield Steelers' Matt Petgrave collided with his neck. Fans were evacuated as medics tended to Johnson on the ice. He was taken to hospital but was later pronounced dead.

The Princess of Wales spoke with university staff and students as she visited Nottinghamshire on Wednesday, October 11. Kate Middleton visited Nottingham Trent University to learn about the work both NTU and the University of Nottingham are doing on mental health. The princess and husband William have taken part in a number of engagements this week in recognition of World Mental Health Day, which took place on Tuesday, October 10.
