PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — Plainfield baseball’s Gavin Lykins had quite the start to the season. Almost a perfect start to the season. Lykins threw a no-hitter against Franklin in his first start of the season and was just one pitch away from throwing a complete game. With two outs in the seventh inning, Lykins threw a ball on a 3-2 count to allow his only baserunner of the game. “It gets to the sixth, seventh, inning, and I realized I had a perfect game going,” Lykins said.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — IU men’s basketball has had an active week in the transfer portal. Troy transfer Tayton Conerway committed to the Hoosiers on Wednesday night. Conerway was the Sun Belt Player of the Year this year, averaging 14.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. He shot 47.1% from the field and 27% from three.

Murphy averaged 13 points per game and shot 42.3% (104-246) from three-point range this season. He also added 3.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. He led the Atlantic Sun Conference in three-point percentage. Murphy is a Staten Island, New York native. He’s 6-foot-7 and weighs 220 pounds.

(WISH) — Purdue continued to bolster its roster on Wednesday, securing a commitment from Omer Mayer, a point guard from Israel. “Excited for the opportunity!” Mayer wrote in a post to Instagram. “Cant wait to get going!”Mayer played the last two seasons with Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he was teammates with former Purdue forward Trevion Williams. He played in 42 games in the last two seasons, averaging 3.7 points and 1.6 assists per game. Mayer will turn 19 years old in October.
