SPOKANE, Wash. — Eight people have been forced out of their homes after a fire in Spokane's Hillyard Neighborhood on Saturday night. Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting out of the roof of the building, and called in a second alarm. Medics took one person to the hospital with serious injuries. The fire started around 4:30 p.m. on E. Broad Ave. near N. Regal St. It started in the lower level of the building, which has four units. The fire quickly spread to the upper floor and attic.

MOSES LAKE, Wash. — A Moses Lake police officer is recovering after they were shot while responding to a domestic disturbance call on Saturday night. A suspect was also shot. Police say they were called to the Motel 6 in Moses Lake around 8:20 p.m. on May 4, according to a post on Facebook. Shortly after officers arrived, police and a suspect shot at each other. One Moses Lake officer was shot along with a suspect. The officer underwent surgery and is recovering.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Rogers High School in Spokane is letting parents know about a possible bed bug found in a classroom. In a letter sent to parents, the school's principal said they are still working to confirm if the insect that was found is actually a bed bug. "When I learned of this potential exposure, I immediately submitted a work order for the fumigation of the potentially impacted rooms," Principal John Hammil wrote to parents.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Drivers in the Inland Northwest will likely notice a big jump at the gas pump the next time they go to fill up. Prices in Spokane jumped 14 cents per gallon in the last week, according to fuel analyst GasBuddy. The average price for a gallon of gas is now $3.75. Prices have been slowly rising over the past month but this last week marked a big increase. Over the past month, prices in Spokane are 22.6 cents per gallon higher.
