    A man in critical condition taken to Huntsville Hospital after a Monday afternoon shooting. The victim was located in the area of Holmes Avenue, near Moe’s Original BBQ, according to Don Webster of HEMSI. Huntsville Police say they responded to the 100 block of Jefferson Street about 12:39 p.m. for a call about a possible shooting. Police said there were four occupants in a red sedan, the victim and three others. The other three were not injured, but were detained for questioning.

    A Town Creek woman faces multiple animal cruelty charges after malnourished animals were found in her home. According to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Rachel Lynn Ruston had four malnourished dogs in her home that deputies said “was unlivable due to feces on the floor, urine and no running water.”She was arrested Thursday and charged with four counts of cruelty to animals. Bond was set at $20,000.
