There's plenty of blame to go around. Composite Getty Image. Let’s be clear: the Astros didn’t lose their series to the Mariners just because the bullpen melted down late. They lost because the offense put them in that vulnerable position to begin with — and the decisions from the dugout didn’t help. Houston’s bats were a no-show in Game 2 despite the win in extra innings, and it was a massive reason why their bullpen was stretched thin in the series finale. Game 3 starter, Luis F.

The Astros host the Giants Monday night. Composite Getty Image. Coming off the opening series win over the Mets, there's a lot for the Astros to be excited about. The starting pitching led the way in all three games, and Houston's high-leverage relievers delivered when it mattered most. Bryan Abreu and Josh Hader closed the door on the Mets in games 1 and 3. Bryan King has also looked impressive, and it appears he'll be counted on in the seventh inning to hand the lead to Abreu and then Hader.

The future is bright! Composite Getty Image. Now that spring training is officially underway, we're able to make some observations about how the Astros 2025 roster is taking shape. Houston's starting rotation is basically set, but we got to see Hayden Wesneski make his first start in an Astro uniform. Wesneski pitched two innings against the Mets on Tuesday, allowing one run with three strikeouts. He's working on a curveball that's a new pitch for his repertoire, and he saw some success with it.

As players continue to arrive at Astros spring training, the updates we are receiving are very positive for the most part. Astros pitcher Lance McCullers is very optimistic about his chances to return and produce a successful and healthy season. At this point, we'll just have to wait and see with McCullers, but it is encouraging to hear how happy he with where he is physically.

A lot to unpack here! Composite Getty Image. Following the Astros meeting with the media on Tuesday, where GM Dana Brown made it seem like the team had already moved on from Alex Bregman, we received some interesting news on the free agency front. Pete Alonso (who shares the same agent as Bregman) agreed to a much shorter contract than many expected. Alonso elected to return to the Mets on a two-year prove-it deal. Which had many wondering if Bregman would do something similar.

I SO wish we were going live right now with Stone Cold ‘Stros! But stay tuned, I’m bringing all this energy into tomorrow’s episode! #Astros

Abreu and Espada cost them the series, bottom line. Hader good this year, now Abreu sucks. Can’t win. #Astros

The offense was terrible with RISP, but Espada bringing Contreras back out is why they are in this position. #Astros
