Get ready for a wild ride in southern Ontario! The risk of rare February thunderstorms will arrive in southern Ontario Tuesday morning. A low-pressure system over the American midwest will move toward the lower Great Lakes early Tuesday, bringing rain, warmth, and strong southwest winds. Daytime highs are set to hit the double-digits Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures are forecast to drop Wednesday night, and you can expect a quick return to winter.

A cold front is bringing a cold, northwest wind through the area on Friday and temperatures are set to fall. Lake-effect snow is expected in parts of midwestern Ontario, and a travel advisory has been issued for Bruce County. The London region could see some flurries develop Friday morning as well, with a high of zero degrees, feeling like minus 7C with the wind chill in the morning. Friday night, flurries will be ending near midnight then cloudy overnight with a low of minus 12C.

A freezing rain warning is in effect for parts of midwestern Ontario. Environment Canada has issued a warning for Grey and southern Bruce counties, northern Perth, northern Huron, and northern Wellington county. A low-pressure system is developing along a stalled front south of the Great Lakes. The low is moving into the area Wednesday and freezing rain is expected in midwestern Ontario starting Wednesday afternoon.

Light rain moved into the region Friday ahead of a low-pressure system that is strengthening over the American central plains. The chance of rain will ramp up Friday night in London, Sarnia, St. Thomas, Woodstock, and counties along the northern shoreline of Lake Erie. A steadier rain will develop Saturday morning as the strengthening system moves through the Ohio valley.
