Washington County Technical High School students were evacuated around 11 a.m. on April 16 due to a gas smell. No injuries or illnesses were reported. Students were temporarily relocated to nearby facilities.

Washington County Public Schools says mold testing at Bester Elementary School revealed safe and low levels. Water test results also were normal, and preliminary air quality tests found no issues with carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, temperature, humidity, or volatile organic compounds. The school's operating systems were functioning normally, and all filters were replaced.
