Langley Dean is a 19-year veteran of the Hagerstown Police Department, according to Hagerstown Police Lt. Rebecca Fetchu. Dean was recovering from his surgery at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown by the late morning June 12, when the barricade situation was still hours from being resolved.
