The longest relay race in the world arrived in Gwynedd on Friday, 2 May. The Oneness-Homes Peace Race, which aims to spread international friendship and understanding, peace and harmony and has held a global run every year or two since it was established in 1987, stopped at both Portmeirion and Criccieth in the same day.

Criccieth Memorial Hall was full on 4 May thanks to an event hosted by Criccieth Town Council and the Memorial Hall to commemorate 80 years since VE Day. Cllr Dr Peter Harlech Jones, Vice-Chair of Criccieth Town Council, welcomed everyone to the commemorative event and thanked South Caernarfon Creameries, Harlech Foods, Caffi Idris for their contribution and all the volunteers who had helped with the preparations.

The weather looks set to shine again for Gŵyl Fwyd Caernarfon (Picture supplied)Thousands of people are expected to descend on Caernarfon this Saturday (10 May) for Gŵyl Fwyd Caernarfon. With another sunny forecast on the horizon, the volunteer-led organising team is eager to highlight several new additions to the 2025 festival. “This year, we’ve added more water refill points throughout the festival,” said Nici Beech, Chair of the Gŵyl Fwyd Caernarfon.
