A family is grappling with immense grief following the tragic loss of a beloved father and son within days of each other. Justin Chappell, aged 28, passed away on Friday, March 14, after suffering a fatal seizure in the bathroom of his Tameside home. His father, Alan Chappell, 72, was discovered unconscious just four days later at the same Dukinfield residence. Concerned relatives, unable to contact him, were forced to break a window to enter the house, where they found Alan unresponsive in bed.

Several products being sold from big companies including popular items like air fryers are being recalled urgently due to safety fears. The UK Government’s Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has published a long list of products “which present a serious or high risk” to people’s safety. Those include Tower Air Fryers which are said to pose an overheating risk. A small number of the kitchen gadgets reportedly have a manufacturing defect, which could run the risk of causing a fire.

An appeal has been lodged against the refusal by a national park to allow decking at a seaside pub in Pembrokeshire which was put in place for safety reasons after a child was almost hit by a car. Kath Lunn, of the Hibernia Inn in Angle, applied last year for retrospective planning permission from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park to retain the wooden decking she had installed at the front of the pub that April. The application was made following an investigation by national park enforcement.

An elderly father suffering from dementia has won a legal battle against the NHS, ensuring he doesn't have to sell his home to cover care costs. Leonard Manning, 82, who was diagnosed in 2023 and has been hospitalised since May following a severe stroke, was looking at the possibility of selling his £150,000 house in Aberdare to pay for exorbitant bills. However, the NHS has now been compelled to recognise its legal obligation to fund all future fees.

Saturday Night Live is to have its own British version called SNL UK. It will be made in London with an all-British cast, executive produced by Lorne Michaels and it will air in 2026.
