Earlier, I wrote about the recent advancement on LLM and LLM-Agents (and provided a quality-first reading list). To finetune a LLM for a specific purpose, there are several approaches to enhance LLM performance, such as prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and finetuning. In particular, finetuning retrains the model on task-specific data. It often produces the best results and is efficient during inference.
