The Tucson Sugar Skulls dropped their home opener to the Jacksonville Sharks 28-21 at Tucson Arena on Saturday. Tucson extended its home-opening drought to five games. The Sugar Skulls haven't won their home opener since the inaugural season in 2019; the 2020 season was canceled for the pandemic. The Sugar Skulls and Sharks were locked 7-7 at halftime following a goal-line touchdown catch by Tucson native and former UA Wildcat Drew Dixon, who is in his first season with the franchise.

Multiple Arizona football players switched positions this spring, but probably the most notable change is in the trenches. Nose tackle Chubba Ma'ae moved from the defensive line to Arizona's interior offensive line in the early stages of the Wildcats' spring practices. Ma'ae, who has been limited this spring after missing most of last season with an injury, changed jersey numbers from 92 to 55. "It's really a natural spot for him," said Arizona head coach Brent Brennan.

Cunningham signed with the Texas Longhorns on Saturday and joins a Texas program fresh off its run to the Final Four. Texas is led by four-time SEC Coach of the Year Vic Schaefer.
