GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The Grand Junction Police Department warned motorists of a temporary closure Monday morning after a pedestrian was hit by a car. According to police, the crash happened near the intersection of 27 and H Roads at about 8:20 a.m. as the driver traveled east. All lanes of H Road east of 27 Road were closed while officers investigated the crash.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Grand Junction officials have halted a contract for an overnight shelter for unhoused citizens of the city. The contract to buy 2851 North Avenue for the eventual purpose of turning it into an overnight shelter and service center for the Grand Junction unhoused population has been canceled, according to a press release issued by city officials on Thursday. Officials cited “extensive due diligence conducted on the property” as its reason for ending the contract.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - A Mexican man ended up behind bars in Mesa County on Tuesday after sheriff’s deputies allegedly found a “large quantity” of cocaine in his car during a traffic stop. In a press release issued Thursday, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office said that a deputy stopped him near mile marker 17 on I-70 after seeing him change lanes erratically.
