    ORLAND, Maine (WABI) - A topping off ceremony was held this afternoon for the new Orland Fire Station. After 50 years, the current fire station is in need of repairs and faces flooding issues. A new station is being built on Gray Meadow Road. The 3.9 million dollar project will bring more space for firefighters and their equipment and provide additional training space.

The Courageous Steps Project is hosting their 11th Annual Back-To-School Drive Monday at the Cole Land Transportation Museum in Bangor. School supplies and monetary donations are being collected to help schools in Aroostook, Piscataquis, Penobscot, Hancock, Somerset, Waldo, and Washington counties. The event runs from 9 until 2.

    OLD TOWN, Maine (WABI) - A flight school in Old Town is helping aspiring pilots find a path toward aviation. “Northwoods Air was created originally when I was about 12, 14 years old in northern Maine. I ended up taking my first flying lesson at age 14 out of Aroostook County, got a pilot’s license at 17, and found my first airplane at 18, and Northwoods Air really started in 2015 as a flight school out of Frenchville,” explained Cody Anderson, owner and president of Northwoods Air.
