DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) - One person was arrested in connection with a shooting at Polyplex in Decatur on Friday morning, according to the Decatur Police Department. One man is recovering in the hospital after a workplace shooting in Decatur. A Decatur police spokesperson told WAFF that officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of Polyplex on Mallard Fox Drive NW around 5 a.m. Friday. The spokesperson said the victim, an adult male, drove away from the scene on his own.

ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Roof repairs are underway at the Albertville Public Library after it was struck by lightning and caught fire just two weeks ago. Library Director Tonia Blevins told WAFF she still doesn’t know just how extensive the damage is to the library, but she has learned that the entire upstairs area was destroyed, while the children’s area was spared. Now, crews are hard at work trying to repair the roof. Blevins said she is not sure how long it might take to repair everything.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Huntsville police are still actively investigating a deadly shooting on Binford Drive just days after a separate deadly shooting in the same neighborhood. One resident said that her children are traumatized. Housing officials said that residents are frustrated and that the children who live there should be able to play in their backyards without fear.

MORGAN CO., Ala. (WAFF) - One Morgan County woman fell for the largest scam officials have ever seen, $813,000. Mike Swafford from the Morgan County Sheriff’s office said this is the largest scam he has ever seen. Swafford said it all started with a phone call. The scammer called the victim requesting money, claiming to be law enforcement. The scammer told the victim there was a warrant out for her arrest, and she had to pay to get through the process.
