EL CENTRO — The Southwest Eagles baseball team faced off against the Holtville Vikings in a two-game series during the week of April 7, where the Eagles managed to sweep their opponents and remain undefeated in league play with a record of 6-0. In their first meeting on April 8, the Eagles secured a dominant 16-0 win. Starting on the mound for the Eagles was Cole Redden, who retired the side in the top of the first inning.

BRAWLEY— The Brawley Wildcats hosted the Calexico Bulldogs on Friday, March 28, for a close matchup that swung in favor of the visiting Bulldogs, 5-4. Heading into the top of the first inning, the Bulldogs got on the board first with a towering home run over the right field fence by Randy Baez. The score remained the same until the bottom of the second inning when the Wildcats headed to the plate. The Wildcats brought in a run with Tate Preece, who tied the game with one swing of the bat.

HOLTVILLE— During the week of March 17, the Holtville Vikings competed in a two-game series against the Palo Verde Yellow Jackets resulting in a sweep for the Yellow Jackets, thus securing two conference victories. With these two victories, the Yellow Jackets currently stand in first place starting the season. Starting the game on the mound for the Vikings was junior athlete Bradyn Terrill.

IMPERIAL— Within the city limits of Imperial, young Valley softball athletes participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new softball field on Sunday, March 23, which will be home to the El Valle Softball Club. Jeff and Tasha Dickerson, a husband-and-wife duo, supported their daughter and the El Valle team she plays for, helping make the development of this new field possible. Jeff and Tasha Dickerson's names were combined to create the field's moniker, JT Love Field.
