ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) - Weak high pressure will keep Southwest and Central Virginia mostly dry for much of Monday. However, an approaching cold front will bring scattered showers and storms to the region during the late afternoon and evening. Quiet weather is expected on Monday through the mid-afternoon hours. Mostly to partly sunny skies will be overhead as temperatures rise into the summer-like upper 70s and 80s.

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) - A front will approach Southwest and Central Virginia from the west on Friday, resulting in increasing rain chances. Showers and storms remain possible through the weekend and into the upcoming week. It will be a mostly dry and muggy start to Friday. A mix of sun and clouds will allow temperatures to warm up into the 80s by the afternoon.

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) - A low-pressure system will move through the Carolinas, bringing more clouds and a few rain showers to Southwest and Central Virginia on Thursday. The region can expect mostly to partly cloudy skies on Thursday. Widely-scattered rain showers are possible, more so along and east of the Blue Ridge; however, not everyone will see rain. Rumbles of thunder are possible, but severe weather is not anticipated. Due to the additional cloud cover, temperatures won't be as warm.

Wednesday will start mostly clear and cool with morning temperatures in the 50s. Cloud cover will gradually increase during the afternoon hours. It will still be warm for the day with highs in the upper 70s and 80s. Some haziness is anticipated as smoke from Canadian wildfires drifts southward.
