Gateway Jax continues to build up and build-out its Pearl Square project Downtown. The city is reviewing a permit application for Avant Construction Group of Jacksonville to work on retail shell space on the ground floor of the five-story Pearl Street parking garage at an estimated project cost of $10.52 million. Also recognized as the lighthouse garage, the property is Block N5 at 721 N. Pearl St., bounded clockwise by Union, Julia, Beaver and Pearl streets.

Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan’s One Shipyards Place office building Downtown landed a permit for a fitness center at a project cost of almost $1.51 million. Auld & White Constructors LLC of Jacksonville will build-out the commercial gym in a shell space on the first floor of the six-story building that is under construction at 1 Shipyards Place on the Northbank of the St. Johns River near EverBank Stadium. Kasper architects + associates of Jacksonville is the architect.

Costco wants to improve its food court and that includes removal and replacement of the well-used pizza oven.

Ann Taylor is renovating its St. Johns Town Center women’s clothing store at a project cost of $401,246. Management Resource Systems Inc. of High Point, North Carolina, is the contractor for the interior renovation of the 3,990-square-foot store at 4711 River City Drive, Unit 103. JLL Architecture LLC of Phoenix is the architect. The renovation includes the interior of the store and adding a new awning. There also will be new signage.
