    Jacksonville’s closed Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers on Beach Boulevard appears to be the site of the area’s first Cook Out, the North Carolina-based privately owned fast-food chain that sells burgers, barbecue and shakes. It could be one of the first Cook Out locations in the state. The site is at 14016 Beach Blvd., east of Hodges Boulevard in the Beach Haven area. FVR Florida LLC sold the Freddy’s property to Cook Out-Beach Blvd Inc. for $2.75 million.

    Ellianos Coffee, with at least 12 identified sites in Northeast Florida, is exploring another. Municipal utility JEA is reviewing the service availability for an Ellianos drive-thru coffee kiosk at 7534 Atlantic Blvd. in Arlington. The 877-square-foot shop is designed on part of an almost 2.4-acre site at southeast Atlantic Boulevard and Arlington Road. A Checker’s drive-thru is on a separate property at a corner of the site. EDU Development LLC of Jacksonville is the applicant.

    Firehouse Subs, the Jacksonville-grown company sold in December 2021 to Restaurant Brands International Inc. for $1 billion, relocated to an expanded office in Deerwood North. The new headquarters is at 4600 Touchton Road E., Building 100, Suite 300. It east of Tinseltown north of Gate Parkway. “We moved to a new state-of-the-art office in a premier location in the heart of Jacksonville’s southside, featuring an open concept to fuel collaboration,” said a Firehouse spokesperson said May 7.

    JinkoSolar (U.S.) Industries Inc. intends to expand its Jacksonville solar-panel plant in West Jacksonville by moving into storage space next door at the building it leases in AllianceFlorida at Cecil Commerce Center. JinkoSolar makes solar modules at the building it leases at 4660 POW-MIA Memorial Parkway. It has been using about 284,000 square feet of space in the 407,000-square-foot building. It intends to expand into about 118,600 square feet for storage.
