The final designs for the new Ontario Place public space have been unveiled. Premier Doug Ford announced the plans in a press conference in Toronto on Tuesday. Ford also announced a new, publicly owned parking structure at Ontario Place. The designs include five distinct areas across Ontario Place including the Water’s Edge, Brigantine Cove, the forum, the marina, and mainland area.

Traditionally undervalued urban and suburban neighbourhoods in the Toronto and Vancouver areas are seeing improvements due to population growth and infrastructure investments, especially in transportation, according to a new report from realtor REMAX.

A modern, boutique-style condo unit has sold for a huge loss in Hamilton. The condo is the latest to sell at a loss as this sector of the real estate market struggles. The average condo apartment price was down 6.4 per cent to $683,413 last month in the Greater Toronto Area, according to the May TRREB report. Condo sales also declined 25.1 per cent year-over-year. A Toronto condo sold for a $143,000 loss in June. Hamilton is seeing a similar downturn.

Another retailer is shutting down stores in Ontario. French sporting goods retailer Decathlon announced on their website that they are closing all five stores in the GTA. “Decathlon is evolving our retail strategy in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA),” the retailer posted on their website. “The retail landscape is changing with consumers valuing variety across online and in-store formats.

A collision has shut lanes on Highway 403 in Mississauga. Reports indicate a pedestrian was hit on the busy highway Wednesday morning. All westbound lanes at Mavis Road were closed for a police investigation around 7:30 a.m., OPP said on X. Both OPP and Peel Regional Police were on scene.
