Volunteers raced against time to release six fox cubs found entangled and "tightly constricted" in netting in east London. A warning has been issued to the public over the danger sports netting can cause to local wildlife. Six cubs have been found trapped in netting over the last 48 hours by Harold Hill Deer Aid, a local wildlife group.

Children were walking past 'puddles of blood' left on the pavement for nearly two days at a crime scene in West London. One mother said her child has been left losing sleep over the disturbing scene near Yiewsley Recreation Ground, West Drayton. A man in his 30s was rushed to hospital from the recreation ground with injuries to his leg and abdomen on Wednesday (April 23). His injuries were assessed as neither life-changing nor life-threatening.

A man believed to be in his 40s has been rushed to hospital after being found injured in Limehouse. No arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident, say police. Police and ambulance crews rushed to the scene in Tomlin's Terrace, Limehouse, this afternoon to reports of concerns over the welfare of a man who appeared to be injured. He was then rushed to hospital where his condition is being assessed. There have been no arrests in connection with the incident at this stage.

A major south London tunnel has been closed after flooding left people wadding through calf deep water yesterday (Thursday, April 24). Woolwich Foot Tunnel has been shut by Greenwich Council for "emergency drainage maintenance" following the incident. The 504 metre tunnel is used by around 1.5 million people each year to cross the River Thames - many of these being commuters. It stretches all the way from Old Woolwich, Greenwich, to North Woolwich, in Newham.
