A man believed to be in his 40s has been rushed to hospital after being found injured in Limehouse. No arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident, say police. Police and ambulance crews rushed to the scene in Tomlin's Terrace, Limehouse, this afternoon to reports of concerns over the welfare of a man who appeared to be injured. He was then rushed to hospital where his condition is being assessed. There have been no arrests in connection with the incident at this stage.

A major south London tunnel has been closed after flooding left people wadding through calf deep water yesterday (Thursday, April 24). Woolwich Foot Tunnel has been shut by Greenwich Council for "emergency drainage maintenance" following the incident. The 504 metre tunnel is used by around 1.5 million people each year to cross the River Thames - many of these being commuters. It stretches all the way from Old Woolwich, Greenwich, to North Woolwich, in Newham.

A military procession of 1,300 members of the armed forces and thousands of members of the public will march through London in celebration of VE Day on Monday, May 5. Members of the public are being urged to cheer them on from the Mall in Westminster. A large military procession and flypast by the Red Arrows will take place, while the Prime Minister and World War II veterans watch on. Street parties and community gatherings are also expected to take place up and down the country.
