NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — For many young Catholics, Pope Leo XIV’s election into the papacy is promising. Some members of Gen Z, who are now in their late teens-early 20s, were too young to remember the last conclave in 2013 when Pope Francis took over. Experiencing this years conclave was exciting, Sydney Crockett, president of the Newman Society at Southern Connecticut State University, said. “It’s a new era for the Catholic church,” Crockett said.

But sometimes those chores can get overwhelming, making some families rethink the way that they approach them. According to the Bureau of Labor, on average, 48% of women did housework like laundry and cleaning compared to 22% of men. This week, the Woman to Woman panel discussed how their family divides chores and responsibilities, providing a diverse system of doing things between their spouses and children.

WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WTNH) — News 8’s Kathryn Hauser was at the Ladies Liberation Luncheon hosted by “Woman to Woman” panelist Rev. Shevalle Kimber. It’s an event that’s part of Connecticut Missionary Baptist Convention. There were about 50 women in attendance who came together to talk about what it means to be liberated in 2025, and what they’ve been liberated from. Among the activities was liberation bingo. Even those who didn’t win felt liberated.
