FORT COLLINS, C.O.— From a young age, Vickie Buchanan had a passion for horses. She was raised on the saddle, riding trails and pack camping. Now, that passion has grown into something even bigger. "I love my horses, I love the trail, I love the backcountry," Buchanan said. Some of her best memories are centered around horses. "[My father] asked me where I wanted to go for my 21st birthday, if I wanted to go to a bar. I said I wanted a pack trip into the mountains in Washington," she said.

Every Wednesday, Margaret Locke and Debra Persico pack food and supplies for Coloradans in need. "Some days we're packing for preschools. Some days we're packing for senior centers. Some days we have everything," Locke said when describing the help she provides. "We distribute enough food every day to make 185,000 meals.

PARKER, Colo. — During the holiday season, volunteers dedicate their time and holiday spirit to bring AdventHealth Parker and New Day Adventist Church's annual Christmas Store to life. Behind them all is Shawna Sajdak, a Christmas Store volunteer of 13 years and the director of community outreach at New Day Adventist Church. "We want it to be a Christmas wonderland. So we want the gifts to be bright and shiny and new, and we also want them to be things that kids would like," Sajdak said.
