POLK COUNTY (WQOW)— A multi-vehicle crash killed one person in Polk County Friday afternoon. The accident occurred on Highway 35, south of 210th Avenue South in the village of Milltown. The crash involved three vehicles. Traffic was slowing down due to wildlife crossing the highway. A northbound pickup truck attempted to avoid rear-ending the slowing traffic, leading to a collision with another vehicle. The pickup then veered into southbound traffic, crashing head-on with an SUV.

EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - A man was arrested after fleeing from police Friday that prompted multiple lockdowns. Eau Claire Police were attempting to contact Leo Lacy about a report where he allegedly pointed a handgun at a person while threatening them. After observing him getting into his car around 12:20 p.m. officers tried to stop him before he drove away. Police say a short time later a crash was reported nearby.
Bloomer Brewing Co. closing brewery and taprooms

BLOOMER (WQOW) - A craft brewery in the area announced it will be closing at the end of May. Bloomer Brewing announced on Facebook the will be closing their brewery and taproom operations. They cited the rising costs for small market brewers and decreasing traffic to the taprooms. They said "we have reached the point where we can no longer keep our doors open."
