Dear, Chippewa Valley. It's time I say goodbye to News 18 and enter a new chapter in my life. After nearly seven years as your hometown journalist, I'm moving into a new career. Don't worry, I'm not going far. I'll be serving our community in a new capacity. I've accepted a job as the new Media & Communications Specialist at the Eau Claire Police Department. CHIPPEWA VALLEY (WQOW) - Pool season is closing in, and Chippewa Valley residents can make a splash as soon as next week. Good news in Chippewa Falls: the public pool is not only remaining open, it will have extended hours this summer. It's been a bumpy road for the Bernard F Willi Pool. As we've reported, the future of the pool was called into question due to its age and restoration costs. The city found a way to extend its life for a few more years as they work to find a long term solution.

UPDATE:In the minutes following this story, we have a positive update. According to the Cumberland Police Department, Volk has been found safe. CUMBERLAND (WQOW) - Cumberland police need your help finding a missing child. Authorities are looking for Kimberly Volk, born in 2013. According to the Cumberland Police Department, Volk left a friend's house near Grove St. around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. She was seen wearing the purple sweatshirt you see in the picture above.

RICE LAKE (WQOW) - There is new information being made public as police continue their search for a Rice Lake woman who hasn't been in contact with her family in weeks. The Rice Lake Police Department is trying to find 39-year-old Melissa Davis. She was last seen on foot in Rice Lake on May 13. Authorities say she was seen in the area of Allen and Main Streets around 6:45 p.m.Authorities are asking those who live in the area to check their home security cameras.

EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - An Eau Claire man is back on Eau Claire's bike trails doing what he loves most, and he has an entire community to thank for it. "I've been biking since probably about 1986," said Jason Sunde. Sunde is an Eau Claire native, Navy veteran and a pivotal part to a community of pedaling enthusiasts.
