The Rice Lake Board of Education dissolved its Public Relations Committee and formed a Communications and Public Relations Committee at its meeting Monday. The PR Committee was formed several years ago to promote the new Warrior logo. It has met quarterly. The newly-expanded Communications Committee aims to keep communications open among all stakeholders — administrators, staff, parents, school board members, students and the community — and will meet monthly.

The Barron County Board of Supervisors got an update on West CAP's programs and services, heard of a Staples Lake Rehabilitation District expansion request, and appointed Jason Hagen as acting interim sheriff at its meeting Monday. Tim Mather took over in January as executive director of West CAP, a community action agency based in Glenwood City serving seven counties including Barron.
