NEXT Weather: 5 a.m. report for Minnesota from May 19, 2025 More soaking rain is on the way for the Twin Cities this week. We could see some spotty showers during the day on Monday, but the bulk of it will start in the evening. During the day, we'll see a mix of sun and clouds and a high just shy of 60. Tuesday will be a washout, with highs falling to around 50. By the time it wraps up Wednesday afternoon, the Twin Cities could see 2.5 inches.

NEXT Weather: 7 a.m. forecast from May 18, 2025 Sunday will start off chilly, as much of the state is under a frost advisory. Temperatures will warm up to the low 60s by the end of the day and winds are expected to calm down — expect them to be much calmer than they've been the last two days. The next big change will come overnight Monday into Tuesday, where we will see our next rain chances. When it's all said and done, we could get about an inch of MUCH needed rain.

Friday kicks off a very noticeable change in the Twin Cities, with below-average highs and a lot of wind. Highs will be in the low 60s, about 10 degrees below average for this time of year. There is a chance of precipitation throughout the day, with the best shot for rain in the metro on Friday afternoon. It won't be a significant amount of rainfall — about a tenth of an inch — and nothing severe. The metro will dry out for the weekend, but still stay cool with highs in the upper 50s and low 60s.

After some morning rain, the clouds will eventually clear in the Twin Cities, bringing us some sunshine in the afternoon. The showers should move out by 10 a.m., but the clouds will stick around a little longer. Expect highs in the low 60s. Another round of rain arrives overnight into Tuesday morning, though this should be milder than the previous round. Aside from that early precipitation, Tuesday looks dry, with highs once again in the low 60s.

A lovely weekend is on tap in the Twin Cities, with the nearly foot of snow dropped on Wednesday on its way out. Above-average weather is on deck for the entire seven-day forecast, with Friday partly cloudy with a high near 40 degrees. Saturday will also be partly cloudy with highs in the mid-40s. Turn your clocks forward an hour on Sunday, which will be in the low 50s and sunny. Monday will be money, with plenty of sunshine and highs close to 60.

It's a MESS out there! Snow falling, snow blowing with STRONG winds. Winds won't die down until the overnight hours, and the snow should start to wrap later this morning. https://t.co/veLkeHC3mJ
