A pedestrian has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a bus. Officers were called to the A4 London Road in Reading, near the junction at Sutton Seeds Roundabout, just after 10:30 GMT. A woman in her 30s sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital for treatment. Wokingham Road and St Bartholomews Road are closed, with police urging drivers to avoid the area.

Peter Small, from Reading, approached councillors to suggest planting a tree to commemorate the Windrush generation's contribution to the town. That simple idea blossomed into the planting of five palm trees on the roundabout at the intersection of the Inner Distribution Road (IDR) and Chatham Street in the town centre.
