Workers with the Philadelphia Parking Authority will be handing out tickets, starting Thursday, for anyone who parks in marked "No Stopping Anytime" zones at bike lanes along Spruce and Pine streets. The move comes as a two-week grace period for the area comes to an end. New loading zones and "No Stopping Anytime" signs are being installed along Spruce and Pine streets in Center City Philadelphia, from Front to 22nd streets, as part of the Spruce and Pine Streets Bike Lane Safety Upgrades project.

A search is underway in Montgomery County after a boater went missing while fishing on the Schuylkill River in Pottstown on Sunday night, officials said. According to police, a recovery effort is underway as officials hope to find the remains of a young man who is believed to have died after a motorized fishing boat he was operating capsized in the Schuylkill River at about 8 p.m. on Sunday, near Industrial Avenue in Pottstown.

Some scary moments for a mother in Philadelphia overnight after the car was stolen with her sleeping 6-year-old child asleep in the back. Luckily, the boy was found safe and reunited with his family a short time later. It all began just after midnight early on Friday, May 30, 2025, when the mother pulled into the parking lot of the Save A Lot at West Chelten and Pulaski avenues in the Germantown neighborhood and went inside the grocery store, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

Firefighters could be seen pulling people from a burning corner rowhome in South Philadelphia and preforming CPR early Friday, but it was too late for at least two people who later died after going to the hospital. Flames broke out around 2:10 a.m. on May 23, 2025, at the home on the corner of South 8th and Salter streets in the Bella Vista neighborhood, Philadelphia Fire Department Deputy Commissioner Gustav Baumann said.

A new pilot program is intended to protect school children -- and punish bad drivers -- by installing school buses in the School District of Philadelphia with new technology. On Tuesday morning, school district officials are expected to unveil details about a new pilot program that will see 20 buses throughout Philadelphia fitted with camera that can ticket drivers who pass a school bus once the bus stop arm is extended. It's illegal to pass a school bus that has its stop arm extended.
