(KKTV) - Volunteers gathered Wednesday at the Hilton Garden Inn North for the first-ever PeriodPalooza event, helping Colorado schools provide free period products to students. The event supports House Bill 24-1164, which requires middle and high schools to offer free period products in all girls’ and gender-neutral bathrooms. Organizers say the need is urgent. A recent study found that 80% of Colorado teens have missed class due to lack of access to period products.

While you can still fly without one, TSA officials say you could face longer security screenings if you are not in compliance. If you have a star in the corner of your license, you are good to go. If not, you will need another form of ID, a passport, for example, to get through security. Real ID has been a long time coming.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -A man is in custody after police say he assaulted two officers during a disturbance late Wednesday night. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, officers responded to reports of multiple people fighting and a suspect threatening to shoot others just before 11 p.m. Saturday near Chelton Road and Galley Road, on Portal Drive. When officers arrived, they say the suspect, Oxzaveon Marrow, barricaded himself inside an apartment.
