CHICAGO — McDonald’s Corp. will close its CosMc’s cafes in Illinois and Texas by the end of June. The shuttering of the standalone locations represents a shift in beverage product development from pilot to a test phase in some McDonald’s stores in the United States, according to the company. “What started as a belief that McDonald’s had the right to win in the fast-growing beverage space quickly came to life as a multi-location, small format, beverage-focused concept,” the company said.
