Welterweight Demontaze “Juicy” Duncan took a chance early in his career and learned a valuable lesson. He lost to Axl Melendez on a ProBox TV card in 2023. That defeat led to a rebuilding process – a reno job that perhaps no one was better suited to take on than Duncan himself. Duncan, 11-1 (11 KOs), will return against Pablo Polanco Fernandez on Saturday at an outdoor venue at Stooges Bar & Grill in Louisville, Kentucky.

Junior lightweight Dominique Francis shows shades of Brian Norman Jnr in the ring, and now he is mirroring him on boxing’s business side. On Wednesday, Francis officially announced that he has signed with Fighters First Management. Francis, 16-0 (10 KOs), last fought in October, knocking out Julio Carrera Lugo on a G-Squad Entertainment card. The win caught the attention of Fighters First President Jolene Mizzone, who draws parallels between Francis and Georgia’s well-traveled Norman.

PLEASANTON, California – Robert Guerrero Jnr is savoring the boxing experience on the independent circuit, while he awaits his own time to shine atop fight cards like his father once did. Guerrero, 6-0 (3 KOs), the son of former multi-division titlist Robert Guerrero Snr, attended a regional fight at the Alameda County Fairgrounds to support his teammate Isaiah Jesse Orosco. Orosco, who is trained by the elder Guerrero, defeated Juan Molina by split decision.

PLEASANTON, Calif. – Junior lightweight Gabriel Garcia sent local fans home happy on May 24 with a first-round knockout over Armando Frausto. The time was 1:26. The event was the first card promoted by Elite Underdog Promotions and took place at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Garcia made short work of Frausto with a vicious body attack. Garcia, who has a nickname of “Asesino,” which translates to “Assassin,” was just that. Garcia landed a right hand that opened a gash on Frausto’s forehead.
