Avalon Geothermal has permanently discontinued service to some customers in Reno and now the company plans to hold an informal public meeting on the change. The City says it was notified by Avalon that it would shut off power to about 100 homes near Manzanita Lane, earlier this month. Because of this, the City says Avalon will not serve the newly opened Moana Springs Community Aquatics and Fitness Center, but it says the facility will continue using the natural gas infrastructure in place.

Nevada State Police troopers are looking for people who saw a pursuit in the Fernley area last Sunday night. The lengthy pursuit ended in a fiery crash near Newlands Drive near Nevada Pacific Boulevard. The suspect, who remains unidentified, died on scene. Troopers say they want information on the vehicle of interest - a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT (which can be seen in the Ring camera video attached to this article).

A suspect is dead after leading officers on a lengthy pursuit that ended in a fiery crash Sunday night in Lyon County. Deputies say the incident started just before 7 p.m. when witnesses called dispatch reporting the suspect failed to stop at several traffic stops, almost hitting a pedestrian. The witness also told authorities he bought alcohol at a gas station and then sped off.
