Healthcare workers at Holy Family Hospital locations in Methuen and Haverhill, Mass., have voted to unionize. The move covers more than 70 professionals — among them respiratory therapists, social workers, physical therapists and other healthcare staff, according to a news release from the Massachusetts Nurses Association. Union election results available from the National Labor Relations Board tallied 46 of the 74 eligible workers voting in favor of joining the MNA, while five voted against.

Margaret Bollmeier was appointed president of the UNC Health Foundation and chief philanthropy officer for Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Health and the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, according to a June 19 news release shared with Becker’s. Ms. Bollmeier will join UNC Health in September after leading the Medical College of Virginia Foundation in Richmond, which raises funds and manages philanthropic support for VCU Health.

OhioHealth Berger Hospital in Circleville remains temporarily closed June 19 after an evacuation the previous day, a spokesperson confirmed to Becker’s. In a statement, the spokesperson said the hospital was fully evacuated June 18 as a precaution following reports of smoke in the basement. “There was no fire; the smoke was caused by an overheating pump,” the statement said.
