It follows an announcement that extreme weather is expected for southern parts of South Australia this weekend, with damaging wind gusts over 100km/h, showers, thunderstorms, and possibly record-breaking waves and sea levels.

As South Australia braces for a prolonged period of cold weather, the state government has activated a Code Blue extreme weather response, effective from 5pm today (Monday May 19th) until 9am Wednesday, May 21st. This emergency protocol comes in response to the anticipated with very low overnight temperatures in several regions across the state. Areas affected include Clare Valley, Riverland and Mt Lofty Ranges. Additional support may also be available in other regions during this time.
