A Slidell man was arrested at his home early Saturday in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian dead, Louisiana State Police announced.Tyrone Williams, 45, was booked with negligent homicide, hit-and-run and Driving on the Right Side of the Roadway, in connection with the death of 28-year-old Justin Warren of Clearwater, Fla., authorities said.According to the LSP, Warren was walking westbound along Louisiana Hwy.

The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double homicide in the 1300 block of North Sugar Ridge LaPlace that occurred Friday at 11:48 p.m.Two of the victims, an 11-year-old girl and a 50-year-old man, succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at a local hospital.A third victim was injured from being grazed by a gunshot. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is warning people about recent scam callers impersonating Sheriff’s Office employees. The callers are threatening to arrest people if they fail to appear to jury duty unless they pay money over the phone.Sheriff’s deputies said in many cases the callers are spoofing the Sheriff’s Office phone number when making these calls.TPSO said they do not collect fines of any kind over the phone and will never demand sensitive information over the phone.
