A local high school is holding its first-ever collectibles show this weekend, with proceeds going toward scholarships and athletics programs for students. About 20 tables full of collectibles will be set up in the forum at Superior Heights Collegiate & Vocational School for the Steelhawks Sports Card and Memorabilia Show from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The upcoming closure of a pharmacy next to Matthews Memorial Hospital has caused concern among some residents of St. Joseph Island, who rely on the services currently being offered. Housed within the BridgeLink Medical Centre, MacKay's Island Pharmacy in Richard's Landing is set to close on July 31. The Matthews Memorial Hospital Association and BridgeLink made the decision to find a new pharmacy provider. If MMHA had concerns, that is news to the owners.

The province's Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) uses a scale of one to 10 to measure air quality risk levels. The northbound lane of North Street is temporarily closed for part of this afternoon as a crew is removing an underground oil tank that was the suspected source of spill. Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks staff were on hand Tuesday for the lifting of the oil tank from the Canadian Pacific Kansas City rail yard adjacent to North Street on to a flatbed truck. The rusting tank had a gaping hole in one side.
