Danny Sayers was driving his truck along Ranger Lake Road on Sunday when he noticed a white funnel cloud up ahead. About 15 minutes before spotting the funnel cloud, Sayers said hail began falling from the sky. He then drove his truck down Ranger Lake Road in a downpour of heavy rain. Sayers said he felt a change in pressure and the wind began entering his truck in a way he had never felt before. "It was kind of a unique experience.

King Charles III is in Ottawa this week for the opening of Parliament, which has sparked memories for a former Saultite who encountered the then-prince during a tour of World War II sites in Europe some 30 years ago. Tom Douglas was leading a 12-day 'Victory Express' tour group in late April to mid May of 1995 to mark the 50th anniversary of the end of Second World War. Many of the people on the tour were veterans of the war and their families.

I have Twice had the opportunity to work beside Fred, both times covering tragic stories. I saw first hand the empathetic way in which he approaches his subjects in those terrible situations. You can’t fake that. Congrats, Fred.
